Monthly Dinner Meeting 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Presentation: Human Trafficking
Our Speaker: Sister Caritas Foster
Sister Caritas Foster is a member of the Sisters of the Holy Family. Sister Caritas first became involved with the issue of human trafficking in 2006. At that time she was asked by her religious community to do an educational process with their sisters and associates. Following the educational process the Sisters of the Holy Family chose to focus on addressing human trafficking. Their focus is three-fold: raising awareness; supporting victims of human trafficking; and working toward legislative change. Sister Caritas coordinates her community’s efforts to address human trafficking. She served on the Board of Directors for MISSSEY (Motivating, Inspiring, Supporting and Serving Sexually Exploited Youth) in Oakland and represented the Sisters of the Holy Family as a partner in the Cross Bay Collaborative. She is a member of Catholic Network to End Human Trafficking.
